QUOTES II

QUOTES II

  • Need for greater motivation and dedication:
"Even if we are trained to be experts in ourrespective field of work and even if our minds are supple enough to adapt to changes, there is still one more prerequisite for better perfomance which we have to fulfil, namely, motivation. Motivation is not an easy thing to achieve. A man can be induced to be more motivated in his work in many ways, namely by giving him better pay, by giving him better facilities to work with, by praising him and so on and so forth. However, better pay and better conditions of service and other form inducements are only aids to greater motivation. The determining and dominent factor is the officer himself. No amount of salary can motivatean officer to be more productive if he himself is not interested in or dedicated enough to his work. In this regard, it is up to each and everyone of us to instil in our ownselves a greater sense of pride and dignity in our respective profesions, for only in this way can we feel motivated to perform better".
(Tunku Tan Sri Mohamed bin Tun Besar Burhanuddin)
